John Splain

Managing Director

Mr. Splain is a co-founder and Managing Director of Ultimus Fund Solutions, LLC. He is primarily responsible for overseeing the delivery of Fund Administrative services to Ultimus clients. As such, he is responsible for all aspects of the fund administration services provided to Ultimus’ mutual fund clients, including the preparation of all federal and state regulatory filings, establishment and oversight of compliance programs, serving as liaison to Board members and regulatory agencies, and generally providing consultation to mutual fund sponsors. He manages a team of experienced attorneys and paralegals.

Prior to co-founding Ultimus in August of 1999, he was First Vice President and Secretary of Countrywide Fund Services, a registered transfer agent and mutual fund service provider. During his 13 years at Countrywide, Mr. Splain served as a senior officer of Countrywide’s proprietary group of mutual funds. He also served as an officer of Countrywide’s mutual fund clients.

Prior to joining Countrywide, Mr. Splain worked as a Certified Public Accountant, specializing in the area of taxation. He began his career in the tax departments of the accounting firms of Main Hurdman & Company and Deloitte Haskins & Sells. Mr. Splain is a licensed Ohio attorney and a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive). He received his B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Xavier University and his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University.
