Ultimus beginnings...
Bob Dorsey, Mark Seger, and John Splain worked together for many years at a small mutual fund service provider that was acquired by a Fortune 500 company. After much discussion and soul searching, they decided that their professional mission was to work in a small-company environment that fostered client service and valued the opinions of its employees.
That dream became a reality on August 1, 1999, when Ultimus Fund Solutions opened its doors. Starting with only the three partners sharing one small office, Ultimus began its legacy of providing quality personalized mutual fund services.
Ultimus growth...
In the early years, many former clients converted to Ultimus. In addition, Ultimus assisted numerous investment advisors in launching their mutual funds.
As Ultimus grew, the three partners continued to focus on controlled growth by selectively proposing on prospective clients that would be "good fit" clients for Ultimus.
Ultimus expands its offerings...
Ultimus celebrated its ten year anniversary in 2009 by opening an office in New York in order to add fund administration services for closed-end funds to its fund servicing capabilities. In addition, Ultimus expanded the office space at its Cincinnati, Ohio location to accommodate our growth and to streamline workflow and operations.

Ultimus employs over 60 highly skilled professionals and continues to provide the unique and personal services that it set out to accomplish from the beginning. Ultimus’ offerings include mutual fund startup and organization services, fund administration and distribution, fund accounting and pricing, and transfer agency and shareholder services for both open-end and closed-end funds.
